Commitment-Phobia
7. He paced around the living
room with only one thought in mind, Rogue and Jason's date. He was curious to
find out what happened. He wanted to know how much she liked him, what's so
goddamn special about the pretty little blonde, and most importantly, how far
their date went.
He raked his mind over and over
again the previous night, and had not been able to understand what Rogue saw in
this Jason. Remy had concluded, that it was definitely not Jason's looks. There's
no way Rogue would find the blonde spiky haired man, good-looking. He knew
Rogue always went for men who had longer hair and a bigger physique. He,
himself, was the prime example. Then of course there was Joseph and even
Longshot. So, it was definitely not his looks.
Well, okay, maybe Jason wasn't
the ugliest man on Earth, Remy thought. Jason was actually a pretty decent
looking man if the girls like the good boy wholesome type. Fine, maybe he
wasn't totally conclusive about the looks, but he knew one thing, he was much
better looking that Jason, and that was a fact, he thought.
"Mornin' Remy, why ya
walking around in circles?" A very tired Rogue said as she stretched and
let out a yawn.
Remy turned around to face her.
He hadn't known many women who could look so irresistibly gorgeous in the
morning, like Rogue did. She was wearing one of his old baggy Harley Davidson
t-shirt, which went only long enough to her mid-thigh. He hair was a little
disheveled but that only added to her allure. Man, I could just take her right
here and now, he thought.
"Rem?"
Remy snapped out of his X-rated
thoughts, and focused back on Rogue's eyes. "Oui, chere?"
"Ah asked ya why ya were
walking around in circles?" She asked him again as she checked him out. He
was still dressed in his black t-shirt, which showed off his very nice physique
and framed his biceps quite just perfectly. He had a little bed head, but it
just made him even more attractive. What I wouldn't give to kiss those lips of
his right now, and feel his body on top of mine, she thought.
"Oh, dat? Remy was just
t'inking, dat's all." He replied casually.
"Penny for your thoughts,
then." Rogue stated as she headed to the kitchen to brew a fresh pot of
coffee.
"Remy don't t'ink Rogue
would really want to know what he was t'inking." Remy answered and went to
join her in the kitchen.
No longer able to resist, he
crept up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist to pull her closer to
him.
"Remy! What do ya think
you're doing?" Rogue cried, surprised that he would be so bold.
"Just giving my chere a
morning hug, dat's all." He said, as he lowered his head and started
kissing the side of her neck.
Rogue let out a little moan of
pleasure at the sensation of his lips on her bare skin. Hearing that, Remy
continued to kiss her and slowly turned her over to face him. Once they were
face to face, his kisses started going up her neck, and finally to her lips. Their
lips locked in a passionate kiss. Rogue wrapped her arms around Remy's neck and
started combing through his hair with her fingers. Her head was telling her to
stop, but every part of her body wanted to feel him completely in her.
Remy stroked her sides, and
once his hands touched her thigh, he could feel her shudder from pleasure. He
slowly lifted the bottom of her t- shirt while gently caressing her body as he
did so.
Suddenly, Rogue broke away from
their kiss and his embrace. She quickly pulled her shirt down, and said,
"No."
A stunned Remy just looked at
her with confusion. He had so thought she wanted it as bad as he did. Things
were going so great, he thought. Why the hell did she stop it, he wondered.
"What?!? Chere, I thought
you wanted it as much as Remy does." He said as he started to reach for
her again.
She quickly stepped back and
looked away from him. Lord knows, I want it as bad as you, she thought. We just
can't do this again.
"Ah'm sorry. Ah just had
t'stop it before we both do something we might regret." She replied
hastily.
"Trust me, Remy doesn't
regret anyt'ing he does with you." He said with a lower tone and tried to
wrap her in his arms again. She broke away from his attempt and walked out of
the kitchen with which he followed.
"I don't get it. You know
you want it as much as me. It feels good, chere. It always does when we're
t'gether." He said again still in disbelief that things had did a 180 on
him within seconds.
"Yeah, sex always feels
good, but it don't make it right." She stated as she turned around and
looked at him.
"It's not just sex, we'll
be t'gether like we should be." He replied with determination, as he
looked straight into her eyes.
"Remy, ya know it's just
sex. Simple as that. We'll just have some mind-blowing sex, then after the deed
is done, our lives will be ever so messed up and complicated again." She
said blatantly as she locked her eyes with him.
"Remy likes de
mind-blowing sex part. How about we get dat part over with den discuss de
rest?" with that statement, he attempted to approach her again.
Rogue immediately stepped back
from him. "Don't ya get it, Remy? Fine, we have some great sex, but that's
about all we have in our relationship! We get into that bed, and we're together
again physically, but we're still not with each other mentally and emotionally.
What's the point? We'll just keep continuing in this circle that ah'm sick of
always getting in because WE never go nowhere by doin' that!." She
exclaimed as she became annoyed at the fact that Remy couldn't think past
anything but sex.
Remy stared at her with
confusion. He just didn't quite grasp what she was saying, and with her
newfound determination in her words, it just made her even sexier. He wanted
her bad.
"C'mon, chere. Just dis
one time. Y'know it'll be good. It always is." He pleaded his case once
more.
Rogue looked at him with
amazement. He really couldn't get past the thought of sex. He is so
irritatingly stupid, she thought. "You're fucking kidding me right? Didn't
ya even hear what ah just said?" She asked him hoping he had some sense in
him.
The only words he heard were
'you're', 'fucking', 'me', and 'right?'
"Remy will fuck you
anywhere you want." He said with the assumption that that was what she
wanted. He tried to get closer to her again.
Rogue whacked his outreached
hands.
"Oww! Why did you do dat
for?" He exclaimed as he rubbed his hands together.
"Because y're an IDIOT! You
can't think past anythin' but SEX!" She cried in disbelief.
Remy contemplated her words for
a moment and tried to think about all the other words she said besides sex. He
just couldn't understand why they just couldn't do it this one time. Finally,
it hit him. Jason.
"It's because of JASON,
isn't it???" He cried and pointed his finger at her.
"OH MY FUCKING GOD! U HAVE
TO BE KIDDING NOW!" She yelled in utter disbelief.
"It is, isn't it? Just
admit it! You don't want t'be cheatin' on your lil' boy toy!" He accused
her.
Rogue glared at him for being
so incredibly stupid. She took a deep breath to calm down and to stop herself
from ripping his head off. She said through clenched teeth, "Remy, ah
didn't mention Jason once. It has absolutely nothin' t'do wit' Jason. We went
out on one date, that's it. This whole thing has to do with you and me, and for
some reason ya chose t'be extra stupid t'day so Ah'm not gonna talk t'ya until
ya straighten out that thick head of yours." With that statement, she
turned and walked away from him.
Remy was completely
flabbergasted at this point. He had no idea what just happened and couldn't
think of anything to say. He blurted out the first thing that came to mind as
he watched her walk away from him. "Well.. well.. well.. REMY WANTS HIS
SHIRT BACK!"
Rogue stopped in her tracks. She
was beyond mad now. She snapped around and glared at him. When he saw how she
looked he immediately regret saying that. He shifted his feet as he tried to
look away from her, but felt as if she was shooting daggers at him through her
eyes.
"This is my favorite shirt
t'sleep in. Ya know that." She said in a very low voice, trying not to
blow up at him.
He stared straight into her
eyes with a new determination. He was not going to end this conversation
looking like an idiot. "Well, too bad. It's my shirt." He said.
Rogue just looked at him in
disbelief. This conversation was perhaps the stupidest exchange of words
they've ever had. The only thing she wanted was to end it. So, she whipped off
the shirt and threw it at him.
"FINE! YA WANT YOUR SHIRT
BACK, YA GOT IT!" She yelled at him.
Remy's mouth dropped as he
watch Rogue in all her naked glory. He had thought he wanted her bad before,
but after witnessing Rogue completely naked after so many weeks of not being
able to, he just wanted to pounce on her.
Rogue's lips curved up in
amusement. Why is sex the only thing that men ever think about, she wondered. She
did a little turn around for him, then said, "Take a good look, Remy. Because
ya ain't getting a piece of this!"
With that she turned and headed
for her room as Remy continued to watch her nice backside walk away from him.
"Damn."
***
Rogue returned home with a bag
full of grocery. She managed to dodge saying anything to Remy after their
discourse, and had had a nice lunch with her friend, Paint. After that, she
went to the supermarket and bought enough food to feed an army. She started to
unpack the bags, and called, "Remy, ya home?"
"Remy's in his room."
He yelled.
"Ah'm making pasta for
dinner, ya want any?" She yelled back.
"Non! Remy's eatin'
out!" He cried back.
"Fine, whatever." She
muttered to herself as she got out the pasta and tomato sauce. I wonder who he
had a date with tonight, she thought. All those nights he went out, had he been
seeing the same girl or had it been a different girl every time. I wonder what
she looks like. Knowing Remy's taste, they have to be gorgeous, she thought. Stop
it stop it stop it! You'll go insane if you keep thinking about, her mind
warned her.
The first night that Remy had a
date, she tried to be nonchalant about it. The truth was, she waited up for him
and didn't fall asleep until she heard him return to his room. Surprisingly, he
returned relatively early every time. Just about ten minutes after midnight. It
put her mind at ease, knowing that he returned every night, which meant he
wasn't in another woman's bed.
*Knock Knock*
Rogue put a pot of water on the
stove and went to answer the door. She opened it and found a stunning tall
blonde woman with a couple of things that have had to been surgically done to
make it look so perky and perfect.
"Hi. Is.. Remy.. here?"
The girl asked. She was surprised to find a beautiful auburn hair woman with
curves to die for, standing right in front of her.
"Oh, yeah, Remy's around. Ya
wanna come in?" Rogue said while giving the woman a full once-over. So she
has massive boobs, but they must be fake to stay up like that. Her hair has to
be a dye job, there's no way it could be that blonde. Fine, she has nice legs,
I'll give her that, but she doesn't have an ass. Rogue thought bitterly and
without even waiting for a response she headed back into the house, leaving the
girl with no choice but to follow.
"REMY! YOUR DATE IS
HERE!" Rogue screamed as loud as she could, trying to blow a little steam
while doing it.
Rogue ignored the girl and went
back into the kitchen. She grabbed some tomatoes and a big knife and started
chopping rather hard. She could hear Remy coming out from his room, which made
her pound the knife even harder.
"Chere. Y'look beautiful. Tres
belle." Remy said as he gave a kiss to his date's cheek.
"You don't look too bad
yourself, sexy." The girl replied and gave him a kiss on the lips.
"Remy, who was that
girl?" She asked him quietly, not wanting whomever it was in the kitchen
to hear.
"Ohh.. Dat's Anna. Ya
wanna meet her?" Remy asked. Before the girl could answer, he went into
the kitchen to get Rogue.
When he was at the entrance of
the kitchen, he could see Rogue pounding away at a few poor tomatoes. She had
tomato juice all over her by now, but she continued to chop harder. Remy
smirked with the knowledge that Rogue was extremely jealous at the moment. He
couldn't help but feel a little satisfied with what he had to go through when
Jason came over the night before.
"Anna?" He said.
Rogue whipped around to face
him with the knife still in hand. "WHAT?"
Remy took a step back when he
saw how she held the knife. "Y'wanna come meet Isabella?" He asked.
"Can't ya see that ah'm
BUSY?" She snapped as she turned around again.
"What y'doing? Making
tomato juice?" He asked as he slowly approached her with caution.
"Ah'm making tomato
sauce!" She hissed as she began to chop with a vengence.
Remy put his arm around her
waist, and said, "C'mon chere. Remy had de courtesy to meet Jason,
y'should return dat courtesy."
Rogue gripped the knife. All
she wanted was for him and that blonde bimbo to get out of the house as fast as
they could and she knew Remy wouldn't let up until she met this blonde, so he can
gloat.
"Fine." Rogue said
and stomped into the living room.
She looked at the blonde again.
She narrowed her eyes and just glared. Through clenched teeth and with the
knife still in hand, she managed to say, "Ah'm Anna. Bye."
With that, she turned around
and walked back into the kitchen.
Remy just smirked with
satisfaction as he watched Rogue stomped back into the kitchen.
Isabella looked up at Remy with
confusion written all over her face. "Remy, she was weird. Why does she
live with you?"
"Oh, she's just my cousin.
She's a little high-strung. Remy t'inks dat she was dropped on her head when
she was a baby." He commented.
Rogue heard the comment from
the kitchen and started to pound her knife as hard as she can, imagining that
the tomatoes were Remy's head.
Isabella let out a little
giggle and said, "Oh Remy, you're funny. But that isn't very nice."
Suddenly, Rogue appeared in the
living room, with knife in hand. "Y'know what's even funnier, Isabella? It's
such a coincidence that you're a blonde with bella in her name. But knowing
Remy like ah do, maybe it isn't that much of a coincidence. Y'see, Remy here
used to be marrie..mmphhm." Rogue muffled the last words because she found
that Remy's hand was clamped over her mouth.
"What she means is dat,
Remy used to be a very merry boy. Y'know, happy, like ma belle Bella." He
said as he gave her a smile. Rogue pushed his hand off of her, then said,
"Why don't y'two go now? It's getting late."
"I don't get it,
Remy." Isabella said as she thought hard about what he was saying. Rogue
rolled her eyes.
At this point, Remy had the
good sense to stop playing with Rogue. He just took Isabella's hand, and
proceeded to leave. "Bye Anna, don't wait up, Remy will be home
late." He called.
"Or maybe you won't be
going home at all." Isabella whispered into Remy's ear, although she made
it loud enough for Rogue to hear.
As soon as the door slammed
shut, Rogue hurled the knife at the door, which stuck straight into the middle
of it.
***
"Stupid Remy and his
stupid Isabella." Rogue muttered bitterly as she ate her pasta. For the
past two hours, all she could think about was Remy and his date. Half the time,
she spent cursing them and their date, the other half, she spent reprimanding
herself for being the reason he even has a date.
Maybe, I should haven't been so
stupid to break-up with him. Man, that was so dumb of me. Why the hell did I do
that? She wondered. But she knew why she had, and she knew it was the right
thing to do. She sighed as she thought about it. Before she could touch, they
were always in this roller coaster relationship; a relationship that never
really existed. Sure, they loved each other but it never could have went beyond
that. It was something they both felt, but regardless, he still led his own
life and she led hers. Never, once were they walking down the same path
together.
How silly were we to think that
just because I can touch, it means that we knew everything about being in a
relationship. She thought. All they had was this immensely high sexual drive
and a love that they both still didn't know what to do with. She knew that one
of the problems they had, was the fact that they both needed a lot of growing
up. Prime example, was their conversation they had in the morning. No matter
how hard they both tried, they always let their stubbornness get their better
sides. How could a relationship possibly develop into something deeper if both
them always let little petty arguments mean more than it actually should? When
will they both realize that in a relationship, sometimes the little things do
not need to erupt into big stupid things? She sighed again and ate another
forkful of pasta.
She knew she was just as
immature and selfish as Remy. Hell, it was her idea that he still remained
living with her, although he didn't object to it. She knew that decision was
completely irrational and it did not make sense to even herself. Perhaps it was
because both them wanted to be remain in each other's lives as a reminder of
what could still happen between them. That they were not completely over no
matter how many dates they had or who they had it with. Until one of them found
a reason to move out, them living in the same house meant that they still had a
chance. It was foolish and immature, and they both knew that. But, it was also
hopeful and that was reason enough to remain living under the same roof.
"Stupid Remy and stupid
Isabella." She muttered again and continued to eat her pasta, alone on a
Saturday night, once again.
