Chapter 3
*Brrrrriiinnnnggg.* Rogue hit
the snooze button on the alarm next to her. What time is it? She wondered as
she looked at the clock. 7:30, it said. Well, that's not too bad, I was just
with Hank a few hours ago. Rogue got up and opened the drapes to the sunset and
enjoy the beautiful view. Wait a minute. why is the sun shining so brightly? Oh
god, don't tell me it's 7:30 AM!! Dammit, I have a danger room session. Shit,
Scott's gonna kill me. She thought as she ran to get into her uniform and tried
to wash up at the same time.
Rogue managed to fly herself
down to the danger room in record time. As she entered, she saw that a few
X-Men were still missing from the room. Okay, I made it just in time, no need
to worry, it hasn't even begun yet, she thought to herself as she sees a very
tiresome Bobby walking in.
"Okay, everyone, we're
going to start with a level four training session. I didn't want to get too
into this or make it too tough, since I, myself am, quite tired." Said a
very worn looking Scott Summers.
Must have had another fight
with Jean last night, Rogue thought to herself. Oh well, all the better for me.
To think that I had about 14 hours of sleep, yet I'm still tired. I wonder if
it's the baby.. She pondered silently.
"Well, everyone will pair
up. Rogue with Jean, Wolverine with Marrow, Bobby with Kitty.. wait. where is
kitty? And Storm isn't here either. Where are they?" Scott asked as he
suddenly noticed the two missing X-men.
Could they have gone to find
Remy? Rogue hoped with a new feeling of anxiety overcoming her.
"I don't know, but I think
they took the Blackbird. I heard them whispering about some secret mission or
what not. Don't worry, they'll probably be back soon, I'm sure they mentioned
something about being back before we would even know they're gone. Obviously,
that's not the case though.. haha" Answered Bobby.
I knew it, they went to find
him. Oh, I'll see him again, soon. It's what I've dreamt of since he's been
gone. Please let them find him. Rogue pleaded to herself.
"A secret mission? I would
have liked to have been informed since I am leader of the team." A
somewhat hurt Scott said.
"Oh hush, Scott. They can
do what they want on their own time. Isn't Storm co-leader anyway? She doesn't
have to tell you everything. Just like I don't have to either." A defiant
Jean Grey spoke up.
"It's different, you're my
wife, Jean. Look, I don't want to argue about this here in front of everyone. Let's
just start the training session." As Scott smartly replied and got up to
lead the way to the danger room.

After the moderately easy
training session, Rogue ran upstairs to see if Storm or Kitty had come back. She
flew around the mansion, looking in every room to see if either of them was
there, but to her disappointment, it was clear that they weren't back yet. Dammit,
all that work and they're not even home yet. Made me so tired too. I need some
sleep. Rogue thought but out of nowhere, she felt her stomach grumbling and
disagreeing with her. Fine fine, I'll get some food first. Geez, this whole
pregnancy thing is strange. Who would have ever thought it would happen to me? Yeah,
but maybe it's God's way of punishing you for what you did. You are after all,
having this baby alone. Without Remy. Rogue told herself, realizing the
challenges she might face if Remy was to never return as she made her way to
the kitchen.
Rogue grabbed some milk and
strawberries from the fridge, poured it on top of some corn flakes, and dug in.
I wonder if Remy would even forgive me for what I did. I wouldn't blame him if
he hated me. Most likely he will hate me, what of the baby then? Would he want
the baby? What if he stays with me for the baby? What kind of relationship
would that be? No, I wouldn't allow that to happen. This is just all too much. Rogue
thought as she suddenly let out a scream of frustration, pain, confusion, all
rolled up in one.
"You okay, Rogue?" Bobby
asked as he heard the scream while coming in from the back door.
"Oh, Bobby, didn't see
y'll there. Yah, Ah'm fine. Just, uhh. tired, y'kno." Rogue answered
vaguely.
"Right. like I believe
that one. Thinking about Gambit again, eh? Rogue, just get over him. He's not
worth your time. He never was. He betrayed us all." Bobby bluntly said.
"Shuddup! Y'll don't know
what y'll are talking about. Y'll don't know him. Y'll never did, and y'll
definitely have no right to judge him. What he did was long before he joined
the X-Men. He didn't realize what he did. You don't think he doesn't feel the
guilt? He wouldn't have hated himself so much if he didn't care. Fact is, he
cared so much about what he did, that it destroyed all his confidence in himself.
He never betrayed us either. He was always there for the team when he was
needed. We were the ones who betrayed him. We were the ones who left him there.
Ah'll always be reminded of that. I was the one who left him. I betrayed
him!" Rogue exclaimed as tears started running down her face.
"Look, Rogue, I'm so
sorry. I can be a jackass sometimes. I didn't mean what I said. Please don't
cry." A very sorry and worried Iceman said.
"Forget it, Bobby. Just
forget it. Ah refuse to defend him to you anymore. You're not worth my
time." She replied as she got up and walked out of the kitchen, leaving a
very regretful Iceman.

It was midday and a very tired
Rogue was lying on the couch of the rec room. Everybody seemed to have went out
and continue with their day, so it was a really quiet mansion, which she
relished. Storm and Kitty still weren't back, but she knew that they will find
her when they did came home. Rogue closed her eyes and almost drifted to sleep,
when she heard some whispering coming from the hallway in front of the open rec
room door.
"Shh. let's not tell
her."
"We have to, she deserve
to know."
They're back, Rogue though. Should
I make my presence known or should I just wait til they find me? Why are they
arguing though. Forget it, I'm just going to listen. Rogue silently decided.
"Look, it's him. We need
to tell her." Kitty insisted.
"No, you heard the way he
talked to us. He wants nothing to do with the X-Men anymore." Orroro
argued.
"It doesn't matter if he
wants us or not, it's Rogue. She's the one who matters here. They both have
issues that they need to deal with. It's not our place to stand in their way. They
need to resolve it." Kitty persisted.
"She'll just be more hurt
than she already is. As long as she thinks he's dead, it'll be easier for her
to deal with it as soon as she accepts that he's dead." A very irrational
Orroro tried to reason.
"WHAT ARE YOU TWO YAPPING
ABOUT? TELL ME WHERE HE IS!" A very angry Rogue yelled as she got up and
made her presence not only heard but felt.
"Rogue, we didn't know you
were there..." a very surprised Orroro said.
"Well, Y'ALL KNOW NOW! Ah'm
going to say this one more time, tell me where Remy is." Rogue said with a
threatening tone in her voice.
"Rogue, he's in New
Orleans. I was going to tell you today whether or not Orroro wanted me to. I
had heard rumours that he was there, and on one of my small missions to Louisiana,
I stayed a night in New Orleans, and I saw him there." Kitty explained
without hesitation.
"Rogue, you don't want to
see him. Trust me. He's changed. You'll only get hurt." Orroro tried to
convince her.
"Look, 'Ro, ah appreciate
what y'll trying to say, but ah need to see him. T'anks Kitty for being
straight with meh. Gotta go now, sugah, got meh a thief to catch." Rogue
said as she flew out of the rec room's window and started her final journey to
see the man that she loves.
